Our First Christmas
Merry Christmas Eve! This is the first Christmas that we have with Winslow. It's Waldo & Miss Kitty's 3rd. Last year we didn't do much to celebrate because the year before I tried to decorate and the cats tore everything apart - including the tree. This year I have a little tree about the fireplace which I'll plug in later and tomorrow I'll probably start a fire. Each cat has a stocking with their name on it. Tonight before bed I'll put in a couple of times and a can of turkey fancy feast each. I have 3 new beds hidden in the closet which I'll pull out in the morning. I have tuna flakes as a treat for Waldo & Miss Kitty. Winslow doesn't like tuna though, so I'll just give him regular treats. He's sitting in his spot on the couch now cleaning himself. So that's pretty much it for the Christmas plans.

The Routines & Quirks of my babes
Waldo and Winsey play a game of tag every night. Usually it's Winslow chasing Waldo. Some times he goes after Miss Kitty and she hates it. She'll hiss & growl and swat. Winslow seems to like that though. He likes to bully her for some reason. Then during the day he spends the ENTIRE day under the covers of my bed. He comes out in the evenings and joins me on the couch, I guess in preparation for his round of tag as soon as I turn off the lights. Waldo is my lap kitty. Always trying to be in my lap. He sleeps on the bed with Winsey during the day. Some times he's under and some times he's on top of the covers. Every morning he gets playful and pounces on sleepy Winsey... or me, if I move. Miss Kitty is my bed buddy. She actually sleeps on a cat blanket in the corner of the room, but as soon as I crawl into bed she comes and lays over my shoulder for some petting. Usually until I start coughing. She comes back though for several sessions of petting. She is the only one who doesn't sleep during the day, drink from the toilet, or scratch my furniture. She gets bored in the morning hours waiting for anyone to wake up and starts playing with her mice. She also follows me around during the day while the two boys sleep.

A special treat
I checked my mail today and found a card from the realtor. Inside was a note saying that the owner of the condo wanted me to have... a $25 Petsmart giftcard! Yay! that is the sweetest thing ever. So now I can go get that 3rd pet bed after all!

their first visitors
My sister Shelly & her boyfriend came to help me set up the new place. Amazing what they can accomplish! Unfortunately they're not really cat lovers. In fact, I almost checked into pet boarding when Patrick started having an allergic reaction, but a vacuum of the place seemed to solve that problem.
The two boys- as predicted hid for the first day. Actually, Winslow hid for more like two days. Miss Kitty was social as ever. Waldo actually joined Shelly the 2nd night. I came back from the bathroom to find him sleeping on her stomach with her hand on him. She was unaware and when she rolled over in her sleep, he promptly snuggled into the crook of her arm - which is where she discovered him when she woke up. The night after that, Winslow joined them. It has become common to wake up and find Waldo & Winslow snuggled together. Winsey usually cleans Waldo. Shelly woke up - I think it was this morning actually - and proclaimed that I have gay cats when she found them both sleeping on her legs with their arms around each other and Waldo getting his licks. I told her that Winsey really had to work to earn that privilage with Waldo. He tried once with Miss Kitty and she looked more annoyed than anything.
It's quiet around here now that the visitors have left. Miss Kitty misses her laser buddy. The last two nights or so Patrick's taken the laser and had some play time with her. Now she's bored.

Winslow as Lambert?
There is a short cartoon that Disney came out with several years ago called Lambert the Sheepish Lion. It runs just over 8 minutes long. I remember watching it as a kid and always being so emotionally touched. Well, I found it on YouTube the other night and as I watched is I thought "that would be the coolest thing if I were to rename Winslow as Lambert." I won't of course - in honor of the last owner (plus he already knows his name and it does actually have intelligent meaning unlike the names I usually choose). I'll see if I can figure out how to post the clip though and you'll see what I mean.

A New Scratch Post
Yesterday one of the scratch posts that I had ordered arrived. It's one of those ones with the rope twisting around instead of carpet. On the top there are two fluffy balls that hang off for them to play. The cats are ecstatic. Waldo & Miss Kitty were scratching on it even as I was screwing in the base. I have to pop the top off to hook the balls up - and I lack the finger strength - so for now the balls are on the floor. Huge success anyway. Last night I was watching tv when Waldo came out of the bedroom with one in his mouth. He was followed closely by Winslow. I could hear growling as Waldo was obviously being possessive of the toy. I got up to take the toy away, but Waldo wouldn't let me have it. This resulted in a game of chase. Me going after Waldo who had the toy in his mouth and Winslow following behind. Miss Kitty eventually came out wondering about all the ruckus. I finally gave up and found the other ball for Winslow - although he still eyed the one that Waldo had. Miss Kitty, fortunately for me doesn't seem to care. She still has her bag of mice strewn around.
I plan to post a sign above my toilet reminding us humans to dry off the seat. Last night I heard water movement - a lot of it, before I heard the drinking and my suspicions were confirmed with I turned on the light and found Waldo on the toilet for a drink. Waldo likes his water to move before he begins, so he'll often stick his paw in and swish it around. As a result, he had a soaking wet paw and left a nice trail from toilet to bedroom when he left. Miss Kitty, my dainty girl, is the only one I haven't seen drinking from the toilet so far.

The Playfulness Continues
Nothing but sleep all day long and then the early morning hours come. Waldo & Winslow consistently play a game of tag, often jumping onto the bed to disturb us gals in our slumber.
Winslow continues to drink from the toilet even though the water dish is a mere few feet away. I've noticed now that he also drips water around the rim, making it a bit uncomfortable for me should I not see it in time.
I have FINALLY gotten around to registering Waldo & Miss Kitty with Home Again now that I know their chip numbers. Unfortunately I can't figure out if I need to contact the SPCA back in Belmont to change my address info or if it automatically changes when I registered them as living in CO with Home Again. I guess I need to pick up the phone. I tried to register Winsey, but he's currently registered under the old owner and I lost the transfer form that was sent to me last May. So I have contacted Home Again asking for a new one. I'd hate for the contact circle to be in a huge mess should any of the cats go missing. So far though, none have been allowed outside - and I plan to keep it that way. At least until I get harnesses & leashes, then they'll be allowed to wander the balcony. Although with a snow storm predicted for next weekend, I can't imagine that they'll be tasting the outdoors any time soon.
Winslow has gotten into the habit of trying to crawl under the covers with me every morning. Unfortunately for him, he's a big clumsy cat and can't manage this on his own. I'm not always willing to help out as I am usually SLEEPING. Waldo continues to steal my hot water bottles. Unlike the other two, he is determined to give me as little personal space as possible and will snuggle up as close as he can to me. This morning I awoke to discover that I was pinned into bed by all 3 cats. Each cat had chosen a side to get as close to me as possible. Too bad for them, I had to pee.

An Update
Kitties are doing great! They sleep a lot during the day. This means, of course, that at night they get playful. Waldo & Winslow are becoming buddies, which is really nice to see. Last night (around 2am) the two of them played a good long game of tag. My downstairs neighbors must love me. Miss Kitty is still trying to give Winsey the cold shoulder, but the two of them come off more as an old married couple who like to bicker just for the reaction. Overall she doesn't seem to mind Winsey.
I have some scratch posts on order as Winsey is forever trying to scratch the bed and Waldo chooses to try on the stairs. I can't afford to have these guys tearing things apart, so hopefully they can wait just a couple of more days.
Winslow has chosen the bed to be his favorite spot. Whenever I come home, I usually find him snuggled under the covers all toasty warm. He's lucky I haven't sat on him. Waldo usually hides upstairs while Miss Kitty is the only one brave enough to come greet me. At night - the 4 of us usually crawl into bed together. Even if it means my getting a couple of hot water bottles to keep myself warm due to some blanket hogs. Waldo usually steals the hot water bottles when I leave for a bathroom break, so really - there is no such thing as being nice & warm. It's either one or the other.

funny waldo picture

I will have my cats in just over a week! I applied for a place today and pretty much have the green light to move in on Friday. He just needs to run a credit check (I don't have any) and a criminal background check (does a speeding ticket count? if so, I've already confessed).
Krys sent me a couple of pictures of my babes. I'm posting the one of Waldo because it's so funny. She couldn't find Winsey when she visited. He has a spot at the Inn that I have been unable to find and he'll disappear for hours taking a sleepy nap. Usually he comes out when he hears my voice, but apparently he wasn't interested in a visit from Krys.

Goodbyes
I said goodbye to my cats today. Well, Waldo mainly. Winslow patiently waited his turn, but it's hard giving him attention when Waldo has been such a needy baby lately. Miss Kitty didn't care that I came by. She was upstairs the whole time.
It will be a long couple of weeks until I get them on th 16th. I will be counting down the days. I will also be looking for a king size bed that will fit all 4 of us. The bigger the better as I always seem to be the one suffering from lack of room due to my sprawled out cats.

Plans underway
I might possibly try to get the cats out to me before Thanksgiving after all. It really depends on when I get myself out there though.
I visited with them yesterday. Waldo was trying to crawl into my lap before I could even sit down. He then sat in my lap like a protective grouch. Miss Kitty actually ran out to greet me although once the boys came she left. I brushed Winsey with the deshedder brush hoping to get rid of some of that fur he has! Fortunately for him my coworker had a free lap for him to crawl into since Waldo was being such a hog.
Waldo loves the dryer at work. So on the one hand, it would be fun for him if I had a dryer in my new place. On the other hand, I don't want to have to be constantly paranoid about funny sounds coming from there. Maybe we'll just stick with a heating pad! He can still use the freezer if he so chooses.

A lonely Thanksigiving
Just me, myself, and I. My cats will unfortunately be unable to join me before the holiday. It's just too busy a time of year for them to fly out and I won't be ready before :( At least there's Christmas just around the corner. I will try to take pictures of them to post before I leave.

The final countdown
My cats are more than ready and so am I! Hope to leave for Colorado within the next two weeks and absolutely no later! Cats will follow shortly thereafter.
The two boys are such luvs. My constant shadows when I visit. Miss Kitty often disappears and shows me that she really doesn't care, but my boys miss me. Last night was my last night at work and I stayed after for some Waldo/Winsey love. I think we had a good time. Winsey continues his habit of drinking from the toilet - which I find hilarious, but it grosses my coworker out. Waldo constantly trips me in his attempt to stay at my feet and guess where I'm going. He's been going through another moody spell lately, although not as bad as the last one. Maybe it's a monthly thing :) Winsey was the one who actually started picking fights the other day. Kept following Waldo around and batting at him. Maybe he was playful? It was just so funny and unusual, I had to stop and watch. He also kicked Miss Kitty out of her favorite spot. Jumped right on in while she was sleeping, which meant she had to leave because there's only room for one. Overall they're getting along pretty well though. They are truly my kids and I am enjoying their quirky moments. I just really hope the flight goes well. Not worried about Miss Kitty/Waldo - it's more Winsey because I know he freaks easily. So I will have cleaning supplies ready when I pick them up from the airport!

kitten update
I have some very active kittens on my hands. The mom, Marmee, & I have bonded. Shame I can't keep her because she has become my shadow. The 5 balls of fluff are great fun to have around. Renny, the 3 month old kitten has really come out of her shell. Krys plans to adopt her and we're filling out paperwork and putting in a deposit... as well as working on our plan to get my dad to love the cat. She gets playful at night unfortunately and while it doesn't bother me (I crawl into Krystal's bed often because the other kittens are too noisy), it bothers her to have the cat hopping around the bed playing with nothing in particular.
My 3 cats are all doing fine. They're getting along! Waldo and Winsey follow me around often as I work. The two are constantly at my feet. Miss Kitty is a little more independent. Is it just me creating these mama's boys?

Motel Run Cancelled
The kittens have arrived! I got a call while I was at work on Wednesday. I picked them up straight from work and have been missing my sleep ever since. I have 5 three week old kittens and their mom. 3 brown tabbies (one has a little tortie to her, she's the only girl), 1 orange tabby, and 1 black/white tuxedo. The orange one looks exactly like what I think Winslow would like like as a kitten, except Winsey would have thumbs. So I've named this one Winster. I also have the mom. She looks to be about a year or two and is VERY sweet. Great mother also. She is a short hair dilute calico/tortie look with even a bit of a tabby hint to her. A true mix. I don't know what to call her. She's taken a liking to me though and is constantly at my side. Meaning that the kittens are also at my side and I've come to resemble mother duck.
I also got a 3 month old kitten. It was at the humaine society. Scheduled to be euthanized. Papers had been signed and they were preparing to take her from the room. All because of some blood in her urine. This foster lady that I'm working with took her instead. Took the kitten toa vet who said she's fine. They were looking at flea dirt mixing with the newspaper! The kitten is one of the most relaxed, snuggly things I've ever met. She will stay in the same spot on the bed for hours, but the second you touch her - she purrs like crazy. She and I have also had some bond time - much to Krystal's jealousy. Krys wants to adopt her, so we're working on a plan to get the parentals to agree. This kitten stays in Krystals room while the other 6 stay in mine.
My cats are all well of course. Spent quite a bit of snuggle time with Winsey yesterday. Miss Kitty is still obsessed with the red mouse at work and occasionally Waldo will steal it from her. I wish I could have them here, but the three of them would go mad being cooped up in the two upstairs rooms. Unlike the kittens who are all just happy to have a home at the moment.

One last motel run
I plan to leave in 3 weeks (oh how I hope it works out!) and my cats will follow a few weeks later. I'm planning one last motel visit for next week some time (or the following) and I plan to bring all 3. I will get absolutely no sleep, but I want one night as a family before we begin our adventure. I must remember to bring the camera for pictures.
There is a red toy mouse at work that Miss Kitty has claimed as her own. She is constantly carrying it around in her mouth or tossing it into the air. Everyone knows it and my coworkers are nice enough to give it back when she loses it.
Winsey has claimed the red tube in the playroom. It's his favorite spot to sleep and often that's where I'll find him when I say my goodbyes. He's been sleeping a lot lately, but today he was pretty perky. I keep a bag of 'hip treats' hidden down there and I usually give him a few whenever I'm down.
Waldo likes the dryer. At home it's the freezer (there was no dryer). He tries for the fridge here, but my coworkers kick him out. Today he jumped into the dryer and spread out as my coworker was taking out the bedding. I couldn't stop laughing because he threw quite a tantrum - hissing and pawing- when my poor coworker struggled to drag him out. I've been told I spoil my cats because during the summer I put ice packs on the floor with a dishrag over them for the cats to lay on. During the winter they get a heating pad.
All three had the playroom to themselves last night. I opened the door when I came in. Miss Kitty daintily trotted out while much to my amusement the two boys zoomed out like there was a balloon tied to their tails.
I love my cats. All 3. Winsey is fitting in so nicely. It will be hard being on my own and counting down the days till I can see them again. It was hard last June spending 4 weeks in the hospital with just pictures of my cats (until I got my embarrassed doctor to work out an arrangement and have them visit). Think I'm cat crazy? I'm only 25 too... hate to see me 10 years from now.

ParTy!
My dear babies had a party last night! The upstairs is being remodeled at the Inn, so my babes and another cat were put into the playroom last night. We walked in this morning and it was a MESS! The litter box was shattered and there was litter all around. Toys were strewn, rugs were tossed. Those guys had a party in there! Some blame it on Miss Kitty and her toy mice (as there was one mouse logged into evidence). I'm not sure who's to blame, but seeing as 3 of 4 cats were mine, I felt a little embarrassed explaining to my boss that the brand new litter box she had just purchased had been busted. Especially when she just replaced the big litter bin that Winsey had broken and Waldo keeps tearing into the food bags. Why is it always my cats? :) It's getting to where I walk in and my coworkers look at me and go 'guess which baby goofed this time...'
That's okay, I love them all and I'm counting down the days when we can all be together.

Bathe me NOT
Winsey got a bath today. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal since I was present the last time he was bathed and other than being vocal, he seemed fine. Well, my mistake was that I put him down for a panty shave also because he seemed a little unkept back there. Apparently it freaked him out and he messed all over the wash machine. Poor guy. His back end looks pretty funny now, but it'll grow fast. He was sleeping in the playroom when I came to pick up Waldo for his second worm shot, so I just pet him for a little bit. I'll see them all more tomorrow during my shift.

missing my babes
Still no kittens. I'm thinking by the time I get them they'll be ready to find permanent homes!
I went to work last night to do the PM feeds & Meds. Waldo and Winslow were immediately at my feet and hugging my ankles. It was kinda neet to watch them walk side by side. Miss Kitty was slower in coming, but she did show up to join the crowd. I miss them all. I'd visit today, but it's really busy down there as there's a rush with all the cats going home after the holiday weekend. So I will patiently wait and I'll see them tomorrow when I go in for my shift. I'm thinking that if I don't get the kittens soon, I may take Miss Kitty for a turn at the motel. Although seriously I need to watch my spending!

kitten update
I am getting a different set of kittens to foster! 3 of them . About 5 weeks old. Hopefully by this weekend. I'm also on a wait list for more. I've gone bonkers!
Now. Winsey. Winsey was a bad boy at the motel. He jumped out the window (ground floor) at 4am. It had been open a crack and he pushed it open enough to squeeze through. It's a really good thing I woke up. I myself had to crawl out the window and over a bush and drag him out from under a car. He protested a bit.
Now he's a bit sniffly. I'm not sure if it's a delayed reaction from the shots or if he has a cold. No one else at the Inn seems to have one. He's not bad. His nose is just a little runny. Yesterday he was very mopey. Today he was more active. I'm watching him. Hopefully the bug will work its way out. If not I'll have to get some treatment for him. I really don't want to take him back to the vet though since he was so traumatized last time.
Waldo and Miss Kitty are fine. Waldo's being a real love although every time I visit with him my coworkers are afraid of my turning him cranky. Poor boy.
Now.

Winsey's Rough Day
Winsey has had a big day. I took him in for all his shots as he was due a couple of months ago, but I didn't rush it since I was dealing with my own issues. Plus he's being boarded so it's not like he's going outside. Well, the poor guy started panting he was so scared. Then he pee'd once I put him back in the carrier. He hated everything from the carrier, to the car ride, to the vet visit, etc. He weighed in at 15.4 lbs and had good health except for his teeth have a lot of tarter and he has some gingivitis. This is due to all the can food. They want me to feed him this prescribed diet to help crack the tarter off, but I can't start that at the moment seeing as he's cageless. They also want to do the whole teeth cleaning with anesthesia, but my gosh that would just scare the guy silly. Plus, I've heard of a couple of cats that died from the procedure - and I'm sure there's nothing to worry about, but I just can't put him through it at the moment (plus it's expensive!). So I will try the new dry food eventually and see if he likes it.
Now we're at the motel 6. We both slept the afternoon away and then I went out to eat leaving him to sleep some more in the bed. He finally left the bed about 10 minutes ago and is wandering around meowing. He ate some, but I think he's more bored so I'll have to end soon and go give him some love. lol, he just jumped back in bed. Such a sleepy babe. I pet wiped him to help with the urine earlier, but his bath is scheduled for Monday.
Miss Kitty was giving me the guilt trip when I went to the Inn today to switch the boys. Poor girl. She actually likes being boarded though which is why I chose to bring the boys here.

A foster mom I am
My boss received a call from someone in LA that had found a litter or 5 kittens. They're currently 2 weeks old. Well, 4 of them are. I offered to foster them for the next month and they arrive this weekend.
I know I know. Here I am boarding 3 cats of my own. My theory though is that these little guys will be too young to go starting fights with my parents cat Max. They can stay in the upstairs bedrooms with me and Krys.
So now this leads to more motel plans. I am taking Waldo on Thursday night and Winslow on Friday night. I need to do it before the kittens arrive because then I will be tied down with round the clock care.

cranky worm butt
okay now I'm combining nicknames for Waldo. He was in a pissy mood today! It even started to rub off on Miss Kitty. I was so embarrassed for them because today my neighbors from the apartment came specifically to see them. Winslow was the only one unaffected, but he doesn't really know them and after a time of sitting in the background, he took off for a peaceful nap on top of a cage. Waldo meanwhile aparently hasn't forgiven me for sticking him in a cage for two days. He grouched and swatted at anyone who touched him. At least some of the other cats were welcoming!
Hopefully Waldo's shot on Thursday took care of the worm problem. If not, he goes back for another shot in 3 weeks. Vet bills. Fun stuff.

settling in
You know what I love? I came to get Waldo for his appointment and was immediately greeted by Winslow and Miss Kitty coming from their spots of leisure to be with me. Now this is common with Waldo and Miss Kitty, but Winslow just started like a week ago. They come and hug my ankles, trying to trip me at every moment possible. It's a good sign that Winsey is feeling like he's a part of the gang. He knows I'm coming to be with him and he and the other two are getting along. They're not snuggle buddies but they don't mind each other in the least. Now if only I had a house to take them to...

wormy butt
Waldo has worms! He goes to the vet tomorrow. At the moment he's being caged while the other two are cageless and free to roam. He's been giving everyone the biggest guilt trips.
Visitors on Saturday! Miss Kitty & Waldo will be thrilled... hopefully Waldo will be allowed out by then.
My sister and dad go to visit my other sister in orange county tomorrow. That means I'm alone with my mom till Sunday. Thinking I might take Winsey for his turn at the hotel tomorrow or Friday.

In the cage
I've started locking myself into the cage with my 3 cats when I visit. This insures that they stay with me and that I don't get distracted with other cats. Waldo absolutely loves it and spends the whole time in my lap. Miss Kitty was a little grouchy with Winslow today. Waldo is fine with him now as long as he has my attention. If I start to pet Winsey then he gets a bit jealous. Usually Miss Kitty and Winsey get along better, but they're in the midst of a tiff right now. I was told that Waldo was his grumpy self this morning when everyone showed up to work but me. Oh well. I pampered him when I visited, but I head to LA tomorrow and I won't visit with the cats again until Monday. I'm thinking I might plan my next hotel visit for when my sister visits in a week or two. I'll probably end up taking Winsey because I'll just feel guilty if I keep taking the other two for turns and not him. If I feel that it disrupts him too much then I'll just keep him at the Inn in the future. He hasn't been allowed to sleep with a human person in months though, so I want to let him have a fun night. I just hope that he allows me to sleep because the few nights that I had him at the apartment he would get active as soon as I crawled in and meowed a lot. I think he literally got bored. Wow - rereading this entry - I sound like a crazy obsessed cat person. Guess that's what happens when you have no social life.

waldo grumps
Waldo really cracks me up. Every time I visit his reaction is the same. He starts of excited to see me. Then when I get distracted by other cats, he starts getting ticked. After I leave - all hell breaks loose. He tends to go into the playroom and mope out the window too. Apparently after I dropped him off after our hotel outing last week, he became a total nightmare. My coworker said she was even doubting it was him because he turned so nasty with everyone. Then someone informed her that he'd just gotten back from our outing and she was just kinda like 'oh, that makes sense. Marika got him all riled up again.' Honestly he was the most loveable cat at the hotel. I really missed him. I feel bad that the long board is getting hard on him. The other two seem fine, but they've always been more sociable. Waldo is my little momma's boy. Always hugging my ankles, scared of the world. Winslow tends to hug my ankles somewhat too, but he's not mad at the world... not as defensive.
I have a really cute picture of all 3 of them in a bunk at work. Hard to see Waldo since a) it was taken with my cell phone and b) the bed is covering most of him. I'll post it the next time I'm off of dial-up.

motel 6
It's Waldo's turn! He and I are currently at the motel 6. I haven't really seen him since we arrived. He's spent most of the time under the bed and since I was on the phone with Shelly, I didn't bother him. He's not as curious as Miss Kitty was. I decided to take him this time because he's been such a grump at work! Miss Kitty has been working her charm and is fast becoming a favorite with workers and tours alike, but Waldo throws a fit and gets irritated every time I go visit. So tonight is our night and we're bonding. Still can't decide if I should try with Winsey (who by the way has gotten compliments on his collar). We'll see how long it lasts. Waldo seems to be the only one not bothering his collar.
So here is the picture of Miss Kitty.

I've had some time with Waldo now. I forgot he likes to snuggle under covers. He's soaking up the attention and I'm feeling the guilt of their long board. Too bad I can't bring them to my parents house. Oh, speaking of... their cat Max got skunked last night. I was up at 10:30pm bathing the cat in tomato sauce. That's part of the reason I chose tonight for the hotel. The house still stinks.

pictures of the boys!
Okay so now it's time to see if I can get some pictures on here. The above is Winsey. The below is Waldo. Waldo's didn't turn out so great as he was attacking the camera string. Still need to cut the size on Miss Kitty's photo, but I'll post it soon.

I put brand new collars on all 3 of the cats yesterday. Red, blue, and green with their names and my phone number printed on all. It's very cute. I think I need to start getting some sensitive stomach brand foods for the cats. Miss Kitty is having some vomit trouble. Hairball treats help, so I bought some for her but I want to see if changing the food around will help her at all. I'm not particularly stressed about this though because she had hairball troubles as a kitten too... even though she's short hair.
Miss Kitty and Winsey have had some admirers at the Inn. People coming in for tours. Miss Kitty likes to suck up to them and Winsey just looks plain cute! I can just imagine getting offers on them, but there's no way I'm letting one of my cats go. They're my kids.

Improvement
Yay! Waldo, Miss Kitty, and Winsey have been cageless the past couple of weeks at work due to it being really full. I went to visit last Friday and saw them all 3 back in a cage. They looked sooo cute together, and the best part is that they didn't seem to mind each other! I'm glad. Must remember to bring camera tomorrow. There are some kitty hip treats down there that I think I might purchase for Winsey. I can't tell if his hips are bothering him or not, but I was watching him sit in his old man kinda fashion and I thought it can't hurt to try! He seems to be relaxing. I think he's finally forgiven me for uprooting him and taking him home for a week. He's back to rolling around and getting his tummy rubbed. He'll sit on top of cages and stick out a paw at whoever walks by.
I took Miss Kitty to a hotel to spend the night with me last week. I'm debating on trying with Waldo. I don't think I'll try with Winslow though. He's been through so much that the next time I take him anywhere, I want it to be his new home. Plus, the hotel beds are blocked on the bottom so he wouldn't be able to hide under there. So I just play with him at the Inn.
Miss Kitty can't make up her mind as to which food brand she prefers. I was feeding her Friskies dry, but then she kept breaking into the Whiskas bag (and I heard that Waldo was doing the same) so I switched them. The last time I was there, she was helping herself to the Science Diet Light. Apparently that's her new favorite - she wants to go on a diet!

Happy Birthday!
Waldo and Miss Kitty turned 2 yrs today! Happy birthday to them. I went to the Inn and made them 'cakes and ice cream' to celebrate. Cake: 1 can of fancy feast taken out whole. frosting = kitty treats sprinkled on top. Yesterday I received a sample can of Sheba in the mail which made perfect for what looked like a scoop of ice cream on the side! I gave Winsey some ice cream as well. I think he appreciated it more than the other two as they're not really canned food babes. I took some bad pictures with my phone since I forgot to grab the camera before I went down. Not sure if they're really worth posting.
Received in the mail today notices for Waldo and Miss Kitty saying that I need to register their rabies vaccinations. Requires money of course. I'm not planning to complete the registration seeing as I'm leaving for Colorado soon anyway. Most likely I'll have to register all 3 cats out there.
Winsey was more sociable today then he's been in past visits. He was rolling around at my feet again. I was encouraged. Maybe I'm not such a bad nightmare to him after all :) I really hate the fact that I can't begin our new lives together yet.

It's been a while
I tried to post earlier, but for some reason the website wanted me to download something on my computer. So now I am on my dad's computer.
I saw my kitties yesterday! It was an exciting time. The Inn was nice enough to let me in even though they were closed. It had been a month since I'd seen them. Waldo and Miss Kitty of course were very excited. They followed me around meowing and got jealous when other cats came near. Even Toby (who has been boarding at the Inn for a year and seems to be Winslow's best friend) followed me around happy to see me back. Winslow was a little more wary as he's not quite adjusted to the change in his life. I started the visit by spending time with him, but I think if anything it just made me more anxious for a time when I can take him with me permanently and we can really start the bonding as a family. He does seem very happy at the Inn with Toby though. I plan to visit them again tomorrow.
I don't know when I will be able to start my Colorado adventures. I now have a surprise (required) trip to Boston that I must complete before I can begin my drive. I can very easily picture the summer slipping into fall before I get out there. As long as I beat the snow eh? Not so bad now that I have the freedom to visit with the cats whereas this past month I've been unable.

Plans Underway
It's been a while as things have been hectic. Winslow spent Memorial Day weekend with me and then all 3 cats where taken to the Inn. I have plans to visit them today after my doctor appointment. My neighbors might visit them some time also. They are fond of Waldo & Miss Kitty, but they haven't seen too much of Winslow as he hid every time they walked by my door.
It looks as though it could be July before the cats come to join me. I'm pushing back the start date of my drive because I think I'll need to see the doctor one last time. Then my sister talked me into going to LA for a couple of days. Pet Trasporter says fine as long as I don't want them during the busy 4th of July week (I had hoped for July5th, so now I don't know). I can't wait to see the 3 cats today though.

1st meeting
I brought Winsey home last weekend to officially meet the other two. They've known each other from boarding at the Inn during the same time period, but I wanted them to know that some changes are taking place.
Waldo & Miss Kitty weren't really too happy to have someone in their turf. There was some hissing and a little growling on their side. Winsey was relaxed as can be although he did prefer to hang out under the bed. I had them together Fri-Tues. I brought Winsey back to the Inn today - only out of fear of getting caught having sneaked in a 3rd cat. The 3 were definitely getting used to each other though. I even caught a few nose rubs, so I think that definitely once they've had time to settle into their new environment we can be a nice big family. Right now the cats seem to be in the 'maybe if i ignore him he'll go away' stage. Better than being defensive, but I would love it if I could come home and see the 3 snuggled up together!

Introduction of the Cats
This particular blog site will be used to update posts on my 3 darling babes. So allow me to introduce the gang.
Waldo is first up for intros. He is a domestic short hair gray and white tabby. Currently I think he weighs around 11/12 lbs. He has some of the weirdest habits. Examples: He loves to jump into my fridge/freezer. As soon as the door is open - he's in. He also chews open cat food bags, litter bags, and bread bags. He used to get picked on by the neighbor cat Tigger, but lately he's been the one starting the fights. Some of the time I think he's defending Miss Kitty. Other times I think he's just feeding his ego. He was born July 12, 2005. Favorite cuddle spot: my lap while I'm at the computer.
Miss Kitty is Waldo's sibling. I believe she was born an hour before he was. She is smaller at 10/11lbs. She is a domestic short hair brown tabby. My little angel - she has this innocent look about her face. Even when I catch her in the act of doing something wrong, I still hesitate to blame her. She doesn't cause trouble like Waldo do. She likes to stay indoor more than Waldo as it's usually a good time to catch me for some one - on - one time. She was also born July 12,2005 (obviously). Her favorite cuddle spot: bed. She gets so excited every night as she watches me get ready for bed. She races back and forth to the bed in anticipation.
Winslow Homer is my newest babe. He is a domestic short hair orange and white tabby with thumbs. He's bigger than the other two. I haven't weighed him, but I'm guessing 13/14lbs? He has big orange eyes and kind of a song to his voice. He gets funny playful moments and will randomly jump on my back if I happen to be bent over right or he'll pat my head if he's sleeping above me. His birthday is May, 2004 I believe... around there. So I'm making it the day that I got him - May 8th. His favorite snuggle spot: none yet - and he probably won't find one until we get to Colorado, but so far he enjoys sleeping under the bed (something I think he was also doing when I picked him up to take him home). He comes up to join me at various points throughout the day, and I've spent some time on the floor - but that's getting hard for me!
So that's the intro to the babes. I'll get some pictures up here eventually.
